Origins of Waste

Our typographic work traces the origins of waste in our society back to its root cause, the basic human instinct of survival and procreation. The passing on of ones genes ensures the survival of part of yourself, it is this instinctive behavior which is the biggest single cause of consumption and consequently waste. Although a essential part of life, reproducing seems to clash with a sense that a persons value is measured not by the quality of their genetics but by how much or how little they contribute to the detriment of our environment. Our new atheistic has been lifted from the genetic information that is inherent in the billions of single cells that makes up “us” and is, in itself typographic.
